Metan Marine-Classic Collection Dealer

Published June 8th, 2017 by Bernardo

Do you remember your first boat? We bet she is now considered a classic. Metan Marine has been in the classic boat restoration business for over 20 years. Located in the Boston area, they are renowned worldwide as being a top classic boat restoration company. Michael Borrelli, founder and owner of Metan, readily admits that the restoration process is a major undertaking for both the owner and his yard, and requires a serious commitment of both time and money. And that’s when the big idea came to him. Why not re-create some of the more iconic, high-demand models and offer them as new builds out of his showroom. Not only does this allow a customer to buy one for immediate delivery, the new builds cost significantly less too.

Specifically, Metan Marine is building several iconic, classic style vessels ranging from 13-21 feet, including their most popular - a Whaler inspired Super Sport 13.  Other models include: The Tender Series 13, the Davenport 17, and the Pelham Bay 21 series. But there are several notable differences between Metan’s Classic Collection and their vintage contemporaries.  All new Metan’s are built using a state-of-the-art vacuum bagging system. This provides a hull that is super strong, lightweight, and efficient.  Additionally, all new Metan’s have the benefit of running with today’s new powerplants with your choice of Yamaha, Mercury or Evinrude outboards.  Only hi-grade components and accessories, used by top builders in the industry today, are installed into every new model. In fact, to call these boats a “Modern Classic” would be an understatement.

So, thinking about restoring grandpa’s boat? Now you have two options. Send it off to Metan who will faithfully and meticulously restore it to 1960’s specs, or buy a new Metan Classic and have the best of all worlds, ready to take out boating today.

Nautical Ventures is proud to be a Metan Marine Classic Collection dealer. With locations in Fort Lauderdale, North Palm Beach, and Riviera Beach, Nautical Ventures offers these vessels to the South Florida boat and yacht community. All of our Nautical Venture locations will put any make & model in the water to accommodate sea trials. The chance to try-it-before-you-buy-it is a big consideration every new boat buyer should insist upon.
