The Optimist has been designed to be safe, durable and competitive. The skills the Optimist fosters can be directly translated into other classes later on.

Each boat carries three floatation bags, insuring a buoyant and easily right-able boat. The patented Plexus bonding agent connects the hull and deck to provide strength, stability and a watertight seal. Hull, bulkhead, rails, and thwart are all bonded together to ensure the boat is as stiff, symmetric and smooth as possible.
