When it comes to safety, think small.

One of our favorite safety devices is the Throw Raft. It’s definitely a product that proves big things do come in small packages. While it does not take the place of a wearable PFD or a Life Raft, the Throw Raft has many benefits suited for kayakers and boaters on inland or near shore waters.

The Throw Raft is the only Type IV inflatable, throwable flotation PFD on the market approved by the U.S. Coast Guard. This Made in the USA device is 9x smaller than the ring buoy and 5x smaller than the square cushion when in its packed state, making it the perfect lifesaving companion when space is at a premium, easily fitting in a backpack or ditch bag.

Minimum buoyancy of the Throw Raft is 20 lbs. It automatically inflates when submerged underwater and can be repacked and rearmed unlimited times. It is highly visible in a search and rescue situations and works well as a back-up buoyancy for use with a life jacket.
