The Seakeeper – Taking the Roll out of the Ride

SEAKEEPER DEMO BOAT 2015 from King Design on Vimeo.

Does the thought of rough seas turn you green in the gills and keep you onshore? Technology typically reserved for mega yachts, the Seakeeper is a revolutionary product designed for boats as small as 30 feet, and can eliminate up to 95% of boat roll, reducing the effects of seasickness. The Seakeeper is a lightweight gyroscope and is available in most new builds or can be retrofitted onto your current vessel. By encapsulating the gyroscope inside of a marine grade vacuum seal, the flywheel can spin at speeds up to 10,700 RPM producing powerful torque to port and starboard that counteracts the boats roll. All critically important parts are sealed inside the vacuum housing, keeping them free of salt water and salty air that typically corrodes electronics. Installation of the Seakeeper system can take as little as 48 hours and all components are hidden within the boat, no external appendages, leaving deck space free and clear. The computerized dashboard display allows boat owners to track the effectiveness of the unit while in use. There are no adjustments or settings to worry about, simply turn the system on and enjoy. The Seakeeper system is lightweight and equals about 2 to 4% of the total boat weight. The patented cooling system removes heat from the vacuum sealed system, allowing the flywheel to spin at high rates of speed for ultimate performance. Additionally, the Seakeeper can be placed alone or in any combination of units, virtually anywhere on the boat for increased proficiency. Nautical Ventures is proud to offer the Seakeeper system as an option on select models, plus installation on refits. Nautical Ventures has been serving the South Florida market for over 30 years. They’ve been helping boaters in Palm Beach County, Broward County, and Dade County get on the water to enjoy trouble-free boating. Remember… you’re not just buying a Seakeeper - you’re buying the experience.

Gyro Stabilizers

Trial Comparison

Seakeeper offers an optional seating/leaning-post module to house the Seakeeper 3 stabilizer aboard most vessels. The gyro unit bolts to the deck, simplifying installation versus older models.

Easier to Install

Aboard this test vessel, an optional leaning post serves as a housing for the gyro stabilizer.

More Natural

A small display controls and monitors the new Seakeeper 3 stabilizer. The controls will also integrate with current Raymarine and Simrad multifunction displays.

Intuitive Display

The system comes with a control display; it will also integrate with touchscreen displays from Raymarine and Simrad once the SK3 is available in April 2017.

Stabilizing Costs

At $26,900 retail, the SK3 represents the most affordable gyro-stabilization
