Why You'll Love the Veer Electric Boat

Published February 2nd, 2024 by Bernardo

The all-new Veer V13, featuring the Avator electric outboard (both unveiled at the 2023 Consumer Electrics Show), is here.

Designed to attract new audiences to boating due to its low sale price, it's also helping bring the latest advances in electric vehicle technology to the boating industry.

As we've learned firsthand at our South Florida locations at Nautical Ventures, the new Veer boat takes style, ease, and versatility to a whole new level—and the best part? You'll be out on the open water in record time (and at a head-turning price).

Why We Love Veer Boats

It's hard not to love the V13's sleek, commanding form, built from the same lightweight and durable material (rotomolded polyethylene) that's served the kayak industry so well. It also makes the new electric-option Veer boat much lower maintenance than fiberglass hulls.

With a starting price of $11,995, this is a great option for people looking to buy an affordable fishing boat.

The Mercury Avator's high-performance outboard electric is fast and quiet, with incredibly low draft and emission-free operation. Shoppers can also choose the Mercury 9.9hp 4-stroke engine, which is nearly as smooth and subtle as its electric counterpart. It's also very fuel efficient and burns clean—so as far as super-versatile, eco-friendly boating options, you can't go wrong either way.

Each motor has readily available speed and a high power-to-weight ratio for instant water adventures fit for newcomers and boating enthusiasts alike. The incredibly agile Veer boat is also safe, featuring a self-bailing function that drains water by gravity alone and without a pump.
In fact, due to its affordability and appeal to a younger, non-traditional demographic, it was awarded the prestigious '2023 Boat of the Year Award' by Boating Magazine.

Veer Boat Specifications

The V13 is so low-maintenance and easy to haul that you'll enjoy more time on the water and less time keeping it all going. That's largely thanks to its incredibly efficient, flatbed-capable design, measuring in at:

  • Draft: 6'3" (resting)
  • Beam: 4'
  • Length: 13'
  • Weight: 382 lb. (dry), 835 lb. (w/ motor)
  • Power: 9.9hp max.

With its dense, rotomolded plastic construction, the skiff-like Veer boats through some of the shallowest waters with minimal risk of damage. Its hull is all the stronger for the fact that it's forgiving, reducing the chance of cracks (and long-term maintenance costs).

True to form, Nautical Ventures is bringing the long-awaited Veer boating sensation to customers with no shortage of customization options. That includes one of several electric outboards (7.5e, 20e, and 35e) unless you opt for the 9.9hp 4-stroke engine.

Two can sit comfortably, surrounded by a deck-like surface, and there's a removable standing bar for easy-grip stability in the center. A two-piece 10-ft. anchor pole makes shallow water anchoring fast and easy, and there's an efficient series of integrated compartments for gear.

Nighttime boaters will want to outfit their rig with a high-powered spotlight, and color options include a crisp light gray or an ever-playful aqua-seafoam green. The Veer V13 also comes with a corrosion-resistant trailer and a protective canvas cover.

Go Green with Veer

As a 2023 Innovation Award-winning boating company—courtesy of the National Marine Manufacturers Association—Veer Boats has left an indelible impact on the future of boating in just a short time. By bringing more electric options to sports boating and carving out a more affordable price point, they're breaking several barriers in one.

Going electric gives you the greatest lifetime value from your boat, and Veer boats particularly take the cost-efficiency of boating to a whole new level, with incredibly high value-for-cost.
